Our truffle hunting dog team, consisting of Joey, a yellow Field Labrador, and truffle expert Ava, forms a Hobby Culinary Truffle pair with over 8 years of experience. These remarkable companions have not only honed their skills over the years but have also achieved unparalleled success. Winning “The Joriad,” the North American Truffle Dog Team Championship held in Eugene, for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020, Joey and Ava shattered records by uncovering a stunning 77 truffles in just one hour.
The Expedition:
Your truffle hunting experience begins with private transportation to and from the tour, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free journey. Once in the heart of the Willamette Valley, you’ll be greeted by Joey, Ava, and your expert First Nature guide for the day. The excursion features an interactive dive and dig course that is both adventurous and educational, providing you with insights into the fascinating world of truffle hunting.
Following your interactive hunt, you’ll get to experience an expert-led demonstration on all things truffles. You’ll dive deep into truffle education, ways to use these tasty delicacies, and how to prepare them from the hunt to your table.
