Portland has a history of breaking the rules, whether it’s by layouing out the city in 5 “quadrants” or slapping bacon on top of a doughnut. From its onset this city has bucked tradition, and nothing is more responsible for Portland’s food Renaissance than a refusal to conform. It’s the spirit behind a motto so big it takes up an entire wall right across the street from Portland’s famous VooDoo doughnuts: Keep Portland Weird.
On the Progressive Palate Tour you’ll visit some of Portland’s greatest culinary successes. We’ll stop for a sample in each quandrant and if you ask, we’ll tell the story of how this city got divided into a paradoxical five quandrants.
